Changing the DVD player to region free is done at your own discretion and entirely at your own risk. The information on this page has been checked by our engineers. You do not need to change the region settings of the Reoc A5 DVD Player if you just want to play Region 2 DVD's purchased in the UK and Europe.   Unfortunately upgrading the A5 to region free is a little bit more complex than the A3. A short file needs to be created on a CD. You will need at least the following in order to do this yourself: A reasonable spec PC capable of burning CD-R or CD-RW A CD burner 1 Blank CD-R or CD-RW Software For Burning Your CD-R or CD-RW Alternatively, if you do not have the facilities to burn your own CD we can supply a CD-R with the file for £4-99 including postage, packaging and VAT, ORDER HERE. Procedure Either: Open a simple text editor and start with a new blank page. Type the exactly the following TSDVDREG-2001-8608201-R0 Save as a file called CREGIN.TXT. OR Alternatively download this file CREGIN.TXT (25 bytes) Using your chosen burning software, burn this file to a CD-R or CD-RW. After powering down the A5 by removing the mains plug, and then powering the unit back up, insert the freshly made disc into the player and after a short while "R0" will appear on the player's title screen on the TV. Your A5 is now region free and will play films from any region. Please Note: -Although your player is now region free, we cannot guarantee that it will play films that are region specific. (i.e. RCE protected discs). These discs will not play in region free players and must be played in either a player that is designed for that region or a player that will let you select the region code manually (or automatically chooses the right region.)
