The best audio quality from the Reoc A6 is available through the coaxial
output on the rear of the unit which you can connect to a suitable amplifier.
If your amplifier has the ability to DECODE DTS then you can select SPDIF/RAW
as your AUDIO OUT option. You will find it under the GENERAL SETTINGS
menu. Otherwise choose SPDIF/PCM or it may DAMAGE YOUR AMPLIFIER AND SPEAKERS.
Please check with your amplifier instruction manual before choosing this option.
Don't forget to turn the DOWNMIX to OFF in the SPEAKER SETUP
menu.
Note: The Reoc HT60, HT80 and HT81 do not have built in DTS decoders but
have 6 inputs designed for an already decoded signal which is the very next option.
A 6 channel amplifier is ideal for creating that home cinema feeling. This Dolby 5.1
Surround Sound is offered through six pre-outs on the rear of the unit. These pre-outs
carry 6 discreet channels of audio ready for connection to a 6 Channel amplifier.
Next is really a matter of personal choice. A 2 channel downmixed version of the audio
can be obtained via 2 RCA sockets on the rear of the DVD player. When a 6 channel
amplifier is not used, the L and the R sockets become the 2 channel output.
The DOWNMIX option must also be set to STEREO and the AUDIO OUT
must be set to ANALOGUE. This can be used by any normal amplifier. The
Reoc HT80 and HT81 offer pseudo
surround modes for 2 channel inputs so outputs from up to all 6 speakers can be
heard.
If you are connecting your DVD player to your TV via a SCART lead and your TV
has Dolby Pro-Logic then choose the LT/RT choice from the DOWNMIX options.
Choosing VSS will create a pseudo surround effect for 2 channel amplification equipment.
