The Speaker Connections
The Reoc HT60 comes with 5 speakers (the main unit provides the
bass channel) and 5 lengths of speaker connecting cable.
Note: 2 of the speaker connecting cables are longer than the other 3.
These longer 2 should be used for the surround speakers.
As a rule of thumb, red wires go into speaker sockets that are coloured red
and the black wires go into speaker sockets that are coloured black. It
is important to keep to this otherwise you will end up with speakers
that are out of phase. Speakers that are out of phase with one another
do not sound correct as the drive units of the speakers are going in
and out at opposite times. If the speakers are all in phase then a much
more pleasant and accurate sound is perceived.
The speaker connections on the rear of the HT60 are designed to take
speaker wire that has the outer insulating sleeving stripped off at the
end and twisted to ensure that no shorting from stray wires occurs.
Place your speakers roughly at first and connect the speaker wire to the
terminals at the rear of the speakers ensuring the red wire goes into the
red terminal and the black wire goes into the black
terminal.
Run the speaker cable back to the main unit and connect the wires to the
relevant speaker output connection (e.g. front left speaker to the speaker
terminal marked L).
Repeat this for all 5 speakers ensuring that the correct speaker is wired
to the correct output.

The Input Connectors
The Reoc has 6 RCA type input connectors. Each connector corrsponds to
the channel it carries therefore it is very important that the
unit is wired correctly otherwise the wrong sound will be coming from
the wrong speaker, destroying the Dolby 5.1 experience.
The six inputs require direct connection to the device providing the source
(e.g. dvd player) via 3 pairs of RCA leads.
The channels are named:
Left (L)
Right (R)
Center (C)
Sub-Woofer (SW)
Surround (Left) (SL)
Surround (Right) (SR)
You will find corresponding outputs on the source device.
To connect the two units together simply connect up the terminals
on the output device to the input terminals on the rear of the Reoc HT60.
It is very easy to get the various connections mixed up, especially the
CENTRE and the SUB-WOOFER channel, so it is vital that care is taken to
ensure the correct output goes to the correct input.
In short, the connections must go...

You can now turn on all equipment and test the speaker arrangement.
A TEST TONE is usually available from the source device in the
configuration menus.
