(!) Have a TV listings magazine handy to make channel
identification easier.

Kindly ensure the following before Tuning the TR4.
- The aerial is plugged into the aerial socket.
- The batteries have been inserted into the remote
handset properly.
- The TR4 is plugged into the mains.
- The power switch on the front of the set is set to
the 'On' position.
|
|
|
|
Getting Going
- Bring the TR4 out of standby by using the standby
button on either the remote or the front of the
TV.
If this is the first time the set has been turned
on then you will be greeted by a couple of
questions.
If it is not then these questions will not be asked. If
you just need to tune your set then press Menu and
move the highlight (yellow) to Install using the
Up & Down keys and push the
Right arrow to enter the Install menu.
Using the same method, put the highlight on Auto
setup and press the Right arrow button.
Autotune will commence. Please go to
step 5.

|
Setting The Language
- Presuming English is the desired language for
menus, using the arrow keys in the centre of your
remote handset, move the highlight (yellow) using the
Down arrow to English and press the
Right arrow to confirm.
Country Selection
- Using the Up & Down arrow keys
select the country where the TR4 will be used.
- Confirm your selection by pressing the Right
arrow key.
This ensures that the TR4 tunes all available signals in
your area.

|
|
|
Find Out What's On At The Moment
- 'Please Wait' will now flash on the screen while
the set finds all available channels to you in your
area. This may take a few minutes.
- Perhaps while the TR4 is searching, you can
familiarise yourself as to what's on each channel at
the moment by looking at a TV listings guide or another
TV set.
|
|
|
|
Sorting The Channels
The TR4 has an extremely sensitive tuner and has
probably picked up weaker stations along with the strong
ones.
- You are now presented with the Edit
menu.
- Using the Up & Down arrow keys
find the station that appears to be BBC1. It may be as
high as 10 or 11.
Failing to start with BBC1 can lead to difficulties
later on when you move channels about.
- Press the Sleep button on your remote
control. This will highlight the row. (light blue)
|
|
|
|
Swapping The Channels
- Using the Up & Down arrow
buttons, move the highlight (yellow) up to the Pr
01 position.
- Press the Sleep button once more and the
previously highlighted Pr No will be inserted in
the PR 01 position.
|
|
|
|
The Rest Of The Stations
- Still using the Up & Down arrow
keys, find the station with BBC2 on and select it using
the Sleep button.
- Move the yellow highlight to Pr 02 and press
the Sleep button. BBC2 will now be inserted into
the PR 02 position.
- Repeat these steps until you have all your channels
in the correct order.

Finishing The Job
- Before you leave the Edit menu you may like
to take a moment to skip all the 'snowy' channels
previously found with the Auto Setup. This will avoid
accidental selection when the TV is in use.
- Using just the Arrow keys it is possible to
fully navigate the Edit menu.
It is only possible to move between Pr No's while
the highlight is in the Pr column. Anywhere to the
right of this changes the channels particulars. (Name,
channel frequency etc.)
- Navigate your way in the Edit menu until you
get to a station you want to skip using the Up
& Down arrow keys.
- Press Right until the Skipped column
is reached.
- Use the Up or Down arrow buttons to
choose. Choosing Yes will stop the programme being
shown when browsing channels using the Pr Up
& Down buttons.
- Press Right to bring the highlight back to
the Pr column.
- Press the Menu button at any time to exit
the Menu you are in.
