Your TT2 Is equipped with fastext and can be
accessed while viewing any channel that transmits
teletext.
To access Teletext you must first be tuned into a
station which transmits teletext. All UK terrestrial
stations carry teletext and these pages can be accessed
simply by pressing the TXT button on your remote
handset. If your are tuned into a station that does not
carry teletext then the sign "NO TEXT" will be
displayed.
Teletext is a live service and is constantly updated
giving news flashes, weather reports, traffic problems,
evening entertainment suggestions etc. In fact the pages
of information are so diverse it would be silly of me to
try and list them all because it is constantly changing
because it is a live service.
To access teletext on the station you are tuned into,
press the TEXT button on your remote handset.
Now, using your number keypad on your remote handset,
type in the three digit page number that you want. There
are indexes that can be used to quickly locate the page
you are after. For example, the index for BBC1 is on page
199.
You will notice four differently coloured headings at
the foot of the screen. These colours are used to quickly
access the pages that they display.
For example, if
|
News
|
Weather
|
Entertainment
|
TV
|
is displayed on the foot of your screen then you can
press your RED button on your
remote handset to go straight to the News section.
Similarly, if you press the GREEN
button you will be taken directly to the Weather section.
All these fastext buttons take you directly to the page
without having to know the page number.
Your Teletext Keys

display all the keys needed for Teletext Operation
Clock Function: -This feature allows you
to view the correct time whilst watching a TV programme.
Press the SUB button on your remote handset to
display the time in the upper right of the screen (see Note at
foot of page)
MIX: - Pressing MIX whilst in
teletext mode will mix the text with the current TV
image. Pressing MIX once more will reurn you to normal
teletext viewing.

button will expand the top half of the page so that it
covers the entire screen. Pressing once more will do the
same to the bottom half of the page. Pressing a third
time will return the text to normal size.
REVEAL: - Pressing REVEAL whilst a page
is displayed will reveal hidden information on the page.
This is used in quizzes and any other type of page where
information must be hidden from the user until it is
required. If there is no hidden information on the page
then pressing this button will have no effect.
UPDATE: - While the TV is searching for
the selected page press this button to enter the
update mode. This allows you to return to TV
viewing while the page is being searched for. When the
page has been located the TV will display the page number
and you can press UPDATE to view the page. Note: -
Whenever an updated newsflash is available, the updated
news item will appear over the top of the TV picture, to
cancel this, press the UPDATE button twice to
return to normal viewing.
SUB: - A significant number of teletext
pages have a number of pages within the page as a whole.
These are known as sub-pages. To select a particular
sub-page press the SUB button on your remote
handset. Sub ---- will appear at the foot of the page
next to the page number you are now on. Key in using your
remote number keypad, the sub page required. (i.e. To
access sub-page no. 4 press SUB followed by
0,0,0,2.) Not all pages have
sub-pages but the ones that do will have something akin
to "01/20" somewhere on the page. This is the actual
subpage number. In this case we are on page 1 of 20 pages
within this teletext page.
STOP: -This button allows you to hold
any page you like. Just press STOP to hold the page and
STOP again to release and carry on to the next page. If
you have held the page for a long time when you cancel,
the next page may be several pages further on from where
it was held.
Note: - Teletext
requires a good signal otherwise you may experience time
signal dropout or even completely corrupt pages. If you
do experience erroneous teletext operation then your
antenna may need repositioning slightly to optimise
reception. An outdoor aerial is recommended.
